As you might expect, photos are a huge part of my life and that’s because I love the memories they remind me of when I look at them. When you’re the person capturing the images it’s often tricky to find any shots that you’re actually in! My husband is great at trying to remember to take the shot but it was only this year that we had our first family photo session with a wonderful photographer friend of mine, Natasha Cadman.
This summer I’ve worked with Mummies who decided it was time to get in front of the lens and capture some images of them and their little ones. These sessions have been a real joy for me to capture and have been a fun opportunity for some wonderful women to record the beauty of their relationship with their little ones.
This is a great time of year to take advantage of some lovely evening light without having to stay up really late to wait for it. The post-tea-time slot is perfect for younger children and I usually come with a supply of raisins to keep their spirits up!
Before your session we have a chat about which colours might work best for the location to help you plan your outfits. Spending a little bit of time planning this can make images really pop and help you to feel really comfortable during the session.
Sessions last around 90 minutes and we’ll spend the time having a little walking adventure and capturing some beautiful relaxed images of you together and if you’d like, some individual portraits of your little ones and you too. I’ll provide some gentle direction to make the most of the light and capture natural shots. I’ll always make sure we get some smiling ones looking at the camera too, perfect to share with relatives!
You’ll receive your images in a secure online gallery where you can look through the slideshow and choose your favourites. All of my packages include digital downloads and the option to upgrade to purchase all of your shots if you don’t want to choose! Once you’ve picked your favourites you’ll be able to download them in high resolution files perfect for printing and social media quality optimised for sharing. I work with some fabulous framers and can always recommend some options to make your images stand out on your walls.
If you’d like to have a chat to discuss booking in your session I’d love to hear from you. You can find out more about what each of my packages include by clicking this link. Most importantly I hope you find some time before this summer is finished to get in front of the camera, even if that’s just your phone, and take the shot! Your little ones will certainly thank you for it in years to come.
